The marriage between James Boyle and Annie Smith or Kay [Widow]. As you can see above they were married in Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland in 1900, where James worked in the Mines. Annie Smith was his housekeeper and a widow with two girls. The documents also give you James’ parents, also James Boyle and Jane Walker. Annie’s parents were William George Kay, a Painter and Jane Williamson.This is the marriage of Annie Kay and Thomas Smith in Chelsea in 1888. Annie Kay was Jeannie’s mum. They had two girls Ellen born 1891 in London and Rose Anne born 1893 in Scotland. You can see in the 1891 English Census below that he was unemployed at the time and would have returned to Scotland [where he was born] to work in the Mines in West Lothian where work was plentiful, but hard, at this time.Jeannie’s mum Annie died in 1913 of the most horrible death of Pyorrhea and gum poisoning which she had endured for 2 months. No penicillin in those days!!! Her parents names not known by James who was all but illiterate and only barely managed to write his name. In their marriage he used his x mark to sign.
Annie Kay’s parents
William George Kay 1825-1900 was born in the St. Pancreas area of central London. When his daughter Annie was married in 1888 the family lived at 24 Fifth Avenue, Queen’s Park in London and William George was an Artist.
William George Kay, age 51, widower, married Jane Willings [maiden surname Hunter] , age 49, Widow in the Parish of Saint Thomas in the city of Oxford on July 28th 1876. Both their parents were Musicians, James Kay and Samuel Hunter. William’s second wife died in 1877 the year after this marriage.

This was the wedding of Jeannie’s youngest son Bobby Quilietti to Jeanette Henderson in 1955. The reception in the front room. The food and drinks brought along by members of the family. Jeannie’s son Arthur with his first wife Dina. She was a Greek lady who he met during WW2. Circumstances brought her to Scotland with their son Joseph who was born in Greece.
